Sounds For A Small Space presents Mermaid Chunky

Mermaid Chunky were formed in 2016. Home grown artists Freya Tate and Moina Walker are the projects founder members and now base themselves in north east London. Mermaid Chunky was conceived as a project that might explore and encompass a love of afro beat, live art, spoken word, film and experimental improvised music. The project has it’s roots in contemporary art and performances incorporate installation, costume and projections. Current performances are made up of tailor made, art film projections accompanied by sound scapes of drum machines, synthesisers, saxophone, recorder, wind up toys, robotic cats and floating lyrical phrases.
