Tommy Charles and Andrew McKenzie have been hosting the monthly Stroud Jazz Jam Sessions for over 14 years and have worked with accomplished invited guests including Andy Sheppard, Dom Franks, Pete Judge, Jake McMurchie, Kim Cypher, Patsy Gamble and many more. Their progamme here showcases the many musicians that are part of this creative jazz community.

’Swans Songs and Stories’ with Blue Jazz 12.30pm
A gentle meander through songs about passion, love, loss, hope and renewal. Intertwined with short stories about why 'these' songs, the composers who created them and the emotions flowing through the lyrics that can move us so. Presented for your pleasure by Blue Jazz who are Brian Kirk Vocals, Andrew Mc Kenzie on Guitar, Graeme Owen on Bass, Paul Boniface on Percussion.

Mike Adcock  2pm
Mike Adcock will be performing a solo set incorporating some of his own eclectic compositions, informed by a musical background that has taken in blues, r&b and a range of traditional music as well as free improvisation. Mike will be playing piano, though given his inclination towards also playing accordion, tuned roof slates and other assorted percussion, things could develop in a number of ways..      

Ben Roscow/ The Standard Bashers  3.30pm
Reworkings of jazz standards, slightly on the gospel/R&B side of things and one or two originals with Ben Roscow on guitar,  Phil Campbell on Keys and Joe Cary on Tenor Sax. 

Ben Roscow was born in UK, raised from a baby in the US (Cleveland, Ohio, home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame).  Cut my teeth musically in Milwaukee, Wi., Studied with Tony King at Wisconsin Conservatory, studied at UW-Milwaukee, went on the road with various disco and hotel circuit bands, founded bands Fell Swoop and Scott Free & the Getaways, and co-founded Crosscurrents multi-cultural ensemble for the public school system.  Moved to Los Angeles 1983: Grad of G.I.T in Hollywood (1984), worked the Los Angeles club scene for 13 years (doing country, Jazz, and R&B  gigs), played with the L.A. Jazz Workshop Big Band, and did studio work.Moved to New Orleans in ’95 and jobbed around with various bands, founding member of Band in a Pocket (Jazz trio and back-up band for hire), Blue Fondue (Jump Blues), and the Delta Panhandlers (Western Swing band).

Utrillo   5pm
Utrillo are a modern piano trio playing classic jazz and original compositions. With Francis Sanville on piano, Paul Boniface on drums, and Andy Rushton on bass, the band draw on inspiration from the likes of Bill Evans, Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock.

Scythia  6.30pm
An exciting new Bristol based jazz funk and blues band performing a variety of sounds from mainstream modern Jazz of the likes of Miles Davis to a varied hand-picked selection of more modern covers in a jazz funk style such as Steely Dan, Plan B, ZZ top, Jill Scott and many more
