Waldo’s Gift
Release: 1st November 2022
Waldo's Gift first met at a smokey jam session, in a central Bristol industrial estate and since then have been combining elements of groove, jazz, math and classical music to formulate their unique sound. Showcasing their own hybrid of groove, math and jazz plus hosting a weekly night at Bristol's The Gallimaufry, where they invite some of the city's finest to collaborate with them; Waldos Gift has emerged as a new force, combining blinding technique with real creative musical insight and authenticity. Featuring James Vine on drums, Harry Stoneham on bass and Alun Elliot-Williams on guitar.
'Waldo's Gift takes inspiration from electronic music heavyweights such as Aphex Twin and Teebs as well as their collective love-affair with early-noughties metal, the trio take listeners into completely uncharted sonic territory'

Griz-O
Release: 2nd November 2022
The new Jazz Stroud series ‘Good Shed Sessions’ rolls on this week, with The South West Sicko performing live in the round.
Griz-O is an MC defined by his bold & direct approach. Based in the UK’s SouthWest, he totes lyrics & artwork that nod to martial arts; he has the combative, tough-talking braggadocio to match, delivered through smart, head-turning bars. Embracing an experimental, grizzly sound, influenced by grime & rap, his career thus far has already seen him travel as far afield as Kazakhstan to play a show.

GOODSHED SESSION ARCHIVE 2021
Amongst all the uncertainty of 2020-21, we decided to come together and create an environment at The Goods Shed for performances in the round using d&b audiotechnik Soundscape but with the addition of a central speaker cluster, inspired by Alabaster de Plume’s ‘Peach’ Nights and Church of Sound. Funded through the PRS foundation and with additional help from the SVA, this was our way of supporting some of the artists that we have worked with in the past and build new relationships with artists we admire. There are more performances to come from the likes of Sarathy Korwar, Waldo’s Gift and Griz-o so keep your eyes peeled!
ISHMAEL ENSEMBLE

Multi-instrumentalist and producer Pete Cunningham, aka Ishmael, sees himself as being on the fringes of UK jazz and electronic music. As a saxophonist, he leads the Ishmael Ensemble, experimental jazzwise electronica, inspired by the Bristol sound, smooth club grooves and swirling electro expanses, above which the soulful vocals appear suspended. The blend of urban beats, jazz idiom and trip-hop heritage almost inadvertently envelops the listener in a smoky after-hours atmosphere. Performing live with the band is singer Holly Wellington, aka Holysseus Fly.
